  • European Capital of Culture: History of a Community Paradox

    United in cultural diversity

2008: European year of the intercultural dialogue. The title is pretty. • December 2008 – Happy Birthday Eurobarometer !
During 2 days, high profile speakers had the opportunity to exchange with various representatives of the civil society, of students… about the evolution and the usage of the Eurobarometer surveys. Speakers like Margot Wallström, Jean Pierre Jouyet, Claes de Vreese, Enrique Baron Crespo, Jacques Santer, had intensive exchanges on the Friday and on the Saturday the “youth” had the chance to “take the floor”. I had the opportunity to represent JEF in these exchanges with some students from sciences-po and also other speakers. It was a very nice exchange of views and the opportunity to speak about what youth expects from the EU. I introduced the JEF manifesto which got a positive welcome and we also talked a lot about the programme Europe at school and the necessity to better inform and teach young people about European issues. You can find more information about the programme of the conference and soon its results on the => webpage <=.
